Karachi: The Sindh Home Department has outlined new conditions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for businesses — effective till January 31 — amid the ongoing second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a news source published on November 24.

Moreover, the Sindh Home Department has issued orders to close all public gathering places like cinemas, tombs and gymnasiums. All business outlets are to remain open between 6 am to 6 pm, and are expected to remain closed for Fridays and Sundays. The grocery stores and other daily essential stores have been excluded from these restrictions. The relevant deputy commissioners have also been instructed to uphold these restrictions diligently in order to control the spread of the coronavirus in Karachi.

Furthermore, Karachi Commissioner Iftikhar Shalwani has banned indoor dining in restaurants and hotels, and has ordered food outlets to only serve customers outdoors. All eateries have also been asked to shut down by 10 pm — however, outdoor delivery will be permitted after hours.
