Sukkur: The Sindh Government has been asked to take possession of 1,100 acres land of Rohri Cement Factory till the outcome of the decision on petitions filed in the case is released, a news source reported. Sindh High Court Sukkur Bench issued the directives.
The bench, comprising Justice Mohammad Shafi Siddiqui and Justice Rasheed Ahmed Soomro, heard the case of acquiring state land on lease by the administration of the cement factory. Assistant Commissioner Mushtaq, the counsel for Rohri Cement Factory, and other officials attended the hearing.
During the course of proceedings, Rohri administration argued that the lease of land was illegal, while the counsel requested the court to grant them a grace period.
The two-member bench, while ordering the provincial government to take possession of 1,100 acres land of Rohri Cement Factory, adjourned the hearing till December 20.
