Karachi: The Sindh government on Wednesday informed the provincial assembly of its intention to form a new governing body to oversee the operations of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB), a news source reported. As per officials, this body would include representatives from all the political parties represented in the provincial legislature.

Local Government Minister Nasir Shah expressed his views on the matter. He requested parliamentary leaders of all the political parties to nominate their representatives for the board. He said the KWSB would work to resolve the longstanding issues of water and sewerage in the metropolis.

The minister was responding to ‘calling-attention’ notices tabled by two opposition members. In the notices, the representatives had discussed problems of water supply and sewerage system in the metropolis.
Speaking further on the matter, Shah said that the government believed in democratic dispensation and would run such affairs by taking everyone along.
