Karachi: The Sindh government will begin working on the construction of the Malir Expressway project, a news source reported. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah revealed this information as he presented the provincial budget speech. He also stated that that they will begin working on the construction of the link roads for M-9 and M-5 Motorways.

In his budget speech, Shah revealed that the government has assigned a substantial funds for the Marble City Project. Similarly, he added, that a significant sum of money has been reserved for the IT Park in Karachi.
Shah revealed that Sindh government has allocated funds for several other projects in the budget, which include the following:
- PKR 3.9 billion for the completion of the sewerage project S-III
- PKR 5 billion for the overall sewerage system of Karachi
- PKR 800 million for completing the K-IV project related to water supply infrastructure
- PKR 2 billion for constructing five combined sewerage treatment plants in five industrial areas of Karachi
- PKR 5 billion for Malir and Korangi treatment plant (TP-IV)
- PKR 5 billion for Malir Trunk Sewerage treatment plant

From foreign investments, the following will be spent on developmental projects:
- PKR 98 million for Karachi Neighbourhood Improvement Project and enhancing public places
- USD 105 million for improving performance of Karachi Water & Sewerage Board
- USD 561 million for Red Line Bus Project
- USD 438 million for Yellow Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) System
Investment agreements with international partners have already been finalised for some of these projects in Karachi. The government plans to complete them within the next five years.
