Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has assessed the progress of the K-IV Augmentation project worth PKR 72 billion and allocated PKR 14.7 billion as the provincial government’s 20% share, as reported in a news article on April 17.

According to the details, CM Shah instructed the Planning and Development (P&D) Minister Nasir Shah to expedite pending approvals for procurement from the World Bank/AIIB teams. Various NOCs for the project are pending from 12 federal and provincial agencies, prompting CM Shah to urge the local government and Water Board to pursue them.
Additionally, some approvals are awaited from the Planning Commission, and CM Shah pledged to personally engage with federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal to accelerate the process. The Planning and Development department was directed to initiate consultant hiring for the K-IV Augmentation component in anticipation of project approval by the Planning Commission.
