Karachi: The Sindh government has announced its intention to establish a history museum and a cultural centre in Karachi in collaboration with the Citizens Archive of Pakistan (CAP) – a news source reported.
Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah expressed his views on the matter during a meeting on Thursday. Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Ahmad Shallwani and CAP patron-in-chief Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy were also present at the occasion.
Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy said that the museum would showcase numerous stories of Pakistan’s culture and history through photographs, newspapers, letters, and first-hand audio accounts among other things.
The proposed museum and the cultural centre would engage citizens with interactive and special exhibits centred on Pakistan’s history – with several sections dedicated to the historical significance of Sindh, especially Karachi.
