Karachi: Sindh Minister for Local Government & Housing Town Planning Syed Nasir Hussain Shah inaugurated a low-cost housing project in Scheme 45 Taisar Town-Karachi, according to the news published on August 8.

In this significant step towards addressing housing challenges, the low-income segment of society has been promised 4,000 constructed houses in Scheme 45 spreading across a gigantic 250 acres. It is pertinent to mention here that Taiser Town is a master-planned community spanning 14,466 acres, which is spearheaded by the Malir Development Authority (MDA).
The scheme, the minister said in his inaugural address, served a dual purpose; ‘to offer reasonable housing solutions for low-income families and to honour the martyrdom of national heroes’. Speaking to the audience, Minister Shah acknowledged the sacrifices of the martyrs and assured that the Sindh government would allocate 3,500 plots to the kin of martyrs.
Also in attendance, Malir Development Authority Director General Muhammad Yasin Shar appreciated the project as a momentous accomplishment that signifies a fresh era in public service.
Secretary MDA, Muhammad Irfan, further shared that the construction had already started focusing on residents’ comfort. Lastly, the housing units, which range from 80 to 200 square meters, are designed to meet a variety of needs and preferences. Furthermore, the project incorporates amenities such as water, electricity, gas, street lights, and modern security cameras, all aimed at ensuring the safety of the residents.

This project has been lauded by the masses as it is making homeownership a feasible dream for those with modest incomes. Minister Shah announced this initiative during a ceremony attended by distinguished VIPs, including Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Advisor to CM Sindh Faraz Lakhani, and Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad.
