Karachi: The Sindh government on Thursday provided a notification of the new tax submission deadline to the tax defaulters in the province and asked them to submit their tax dues, a news source reported. To this effect, Minister for Excise & Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla directed the defaulters to pay their tax levies before June 30.

He further stated that the Sindh Excise Department officer were open with the one-third of the staff working as per routine. He added that in light of the coronavirus health situation, the department had also introduced an online queue management for facilitating the taxpayers.
Chawla revealed details on the property tax collected by the Sindh Excise & Taxation Department until May for the current fiscal year. He said that the authorities concerned had collected:
- PKR 1678.884 million from Karachi
- PKR 69.532 million from Hyderabad
- PKR 9.186 million from Shaheed Benazirabad
- PKR 33.102 million from Sukkur
- PKR 9.778 million from Mirpurkhas
- PKR 22.137 million from Larkana

The minister stated that the Excise & Taxation offices were open for collection of all taxes including property and professional taxes. He asked the taxpayers to get their challans and deposit their taxes by taking advantage of the 25% exemption provided to them.
