Karachi: The Sindh government has announced a reward of PKR 100,000 for anyone who provides useful information with an aim to facilitate the arrest of litterers in the city, a news source reported. As per officials, the executive plans to take action against people found dumping garbage on roadsides and choking sewers with stones and gunny bags.

The announcement was made by the Information and Labour Minister Saeed Ghani while addressing a news conference at the Sindh Assembly on Tuesday. He also assured people that the identity of the informants would be kept confidential.
The minister also announced two dedicated WhatsApp numbers: +92 300 0074296 and + 92 300 0084296 for the purpose. People can send pictures and video clips exposing the actions of the miscreants intending to harm the clean-up drive.
He added that this was a necessary step because the provincial government did not have the capacity to keep surveillance on the roads spread over several thousands of kilometres and the 400,000 manholes across the city to save them from getting choked.
