Karachi: The Sindh government has planned to increase stamp duty on the sale and purchase of old buildings. According to a news source, an amendment has been made to Article 16-B of the Sindh Land Revenue Act, under which the value of the old buildings will now be calculated in light of a valuation table.
Reportedly, the stamp duty will be 0.25 percent of the property value in case the market value of the property in question is recorded. However, the stamp duty will be 2 percent of the property value if it is calculated according to the valuation table.
