Karachi: The Sindh government has halted work on the anti-encroachment drive in Karachi, according to a news report. Minister Transport & Mass Transit Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that work on Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) project was underway and that people living on the reserved land for KCR should be resettled first, before anti-encroachment drive. Thus, Pakistan Railways has asked the Sindh Government to halt this drive.
Nasir Hussain further added that these people should be provided with an alternative plot for resettlement. However, no provisions will be given to those who have only recently taken up residence here.
