The minister further took the opportunity to address the concerns about the new local government system being introduced across the country, and informed that the city’s mayor, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), the Divisional Metropolitan Corporations (DMCs) and the Union Council were all part of the decision. He said that if local government were to work on a project which costs more than the allocated budget, than it would have to gain the federal government’s permission; just like provincial government would have to in the same circumstances.
