Karachi: Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda has extended the centre’s support to the Sindh Government against illegal hydrants installed in Karachi, a news source reported. He expressed these views during a meeting with Sindh Governor Imran Ismail.
Vawda discussed with the Sindh Governor various projects under consideration to address the water crisis. He also apprised Ismail about meetings with Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
The minister said Islamabad was committed to cooperate with the provincial government to prevent the installation of illegal hydrants in Karachi, adding that authorities had been directed to remove illegal water connections in the metropolis.
He said a task force would be notified to address water crisis in the city. Governor Imran Ismail, on his part, lauded the efforts of the federal minister and reiterated the Sindh Government’s support and assistance to tackle water-related issues.
