Karachi: Provincial Energy Minister Syed Nasir Shah has announced that the distribution of free solar panels across Sindh will commence this month, as reported on August 21.

As per details, during a recent meeting led by Minister Nasir Shah, key stakeholders from the Energy Department, along with NGO representatives, reviewed the solar panel distribution project, which is supported by the World Bank. Attendees included Secretary of Energy Mossadegh Ahmed Khan, CEO of the Sindh Solar Panel Foundation Khalid Sheikh, and Director of the Sindh Solar Energy Project Mahfouz Qazi. Minister underscored the project’s urgency, instructing that the distribution of solar panels be expedited throughout August. He emphasized the need for transparent and effective distribution to ensure coverage across all divisions and districts in Sindh.

“The aim is to provide relief through alternative energy sources, as conventional electricity costs have become prohibitive for many,” Shah stated. He further highlighted that the Sindh government is dedicated to reducing electricity expenses and expanding access to more affordable energy options through this solar initiative.
