Karachi: Sindh Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon has asked the Chinse firm – Yutong – to provide a time frame for submitting its final proposal on setting up a bus manufacturing plant in the province, according to news published on October 29.

Transport Minister Memon chaired a meeting with Yutong and its partners Master Motors, Pakistan to review the progress of setting up the Yutong Public Transport Plant in Sindh. During the meeting, the import of more buses from China for the Peoples Bus Service project was discussed. The minister asked the Chinese company to share a timeline for submission of the proposal so all formalities including reservation of land could be completed to start work on the manufacturing plant.

The Yutong director informed the transport minister that the company is working on the proposal for the plant and the final proposal will be submitted to the provincial government soon. The company also handed over 10 trucks of relief goods for flood victims.
