Karachi: Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla recently announced that the excise department had introduced an online queue management system to facilitate taxpayers — with the initiative having been launched in light of the upcoming end of the fiscal year and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, a news source reported. The measures have been introduced as per the health advisory issued by the provincial government.

The minister stated that the new system would offer tax payers the perfect opportunity to clear their dues before June 30, and that all the excise and taxation offices would remain open around the province.

In a separate statement, minister Chawla said that during the month of May, the motor vehicle tax collection figure was PKR 4602.54 million from Karachi; PKR 372.03 from Hyderabad; PKR 231.850 from Sukkur; PKR 80.380 from Shaheed Benazirabad; PKR 83.467 from Larkana; and PKR 46.629 from Mirpur Khas.
