Karachi: Sindh Minister for Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Wednesday revealed during a press conference that the Eid-ul-Fitr and Jum’atul-Wida prayers in the province would be offered as per the anti-COVID standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the federal government, a news source reported.

As per the publication, the minister said that the federal government had issued 20-point SOPs that would be implemented across Sindh, and the country as a whole. Sindh Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani also spoke on the occasion and said that as shopping malls and markets were being reopened, it would not be right to ban people from praying in mosques.

Minister Ghani said that various parks and grounds would be identified as prayer sites and that if the number of people escalated during Eid prayers, then the alternate sites would be used in order to avoid congestion. Minister Ghani reiterated that it was better for the citizens and their loved ones to remain vigilant amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
