Karachi: Karachi Administrator, Chief Minister (CM) Advisor on law, Sindh government spokesman Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Monday (November 22) announced that a park will be developed on five acres of land near Lyari River, according to media reports.

Mr Wahab made this announcement during his visit to Lyari. Special Assistant to Sindh Chief Minister Asif Khan was present for this occasion.
As per the details shared, a football ground will be constructed in the park to provide a healthy recreational area for the youth. For the beautification of the park, many plants will be imported from Khairpur. Previously, the place was used by drug peddlers, truck mafia and was ridden with encroachments. It was decided that the best use of space and prevent illegal occupation is to develop a park.

Mr Wahab went on to say that the Sindh government is focused on promoting the green Karachi concept and steps will be taken to increase the number of trees across the city. Moreover, the Karachi administrator also stated that urban forest needs to be established along Lyari Expressway. This will help beautify the area and reduce environmental pollution.
