Karachi: Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh on Wednesday said that the provincial government had released PKR 20 million to the deputy commissioners (DCs) concerned to ensure equitable ration distributions among the locals affected by the ongoing coronavirus lockdown in the city, a news source reported.

Sheikh said that Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah recently provided his approval to the release of funds for rations supply. He added that that the authorities concerned had constituted committees on the union level to make the ration distribution procedure efficient.

In a related developed, Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah held a meeting with the representatives of several welfare organisations – including Al-Khidmat, Alamgeer, Chhipa Trust, and Edhi Foundation – during which he discussed the procedure for the distribution of free ration among the province’s low-income households during the lockdown.
