Shah said that the government would make changes to the plan to meet the increasing needs of civic amenities (including rehabilitation of the drainage system) as part of the upcoming planned expansion of the city.
The CS told the press that the executive had made repeated attempts to provide water to the tail-end areas of the city, but could not fulfil the task because of overall shortage in the system. At the high court’s orders, the provincial government would increase the number of Rangers deployed in the areas experiencing water shortage to keep a check on instances of water theft.
