Karachi: The Sindh government is contemplating a smart lockdown strategy in the province, a news source reported. Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah made the suggestion during a meeting held at the CM House.

The meeting also proposed a phase-wise opening of all shops across the province. However, the members of the meeting suggested that the opening timings should vary for different sectors.
In regards to the implementation of the smart lockdown in Sindh, the CM would make formal announcements about the restrictions after consultations with the officials concerned. He is expected to take up the matter with cabinet members, administrative officers, senior officials, and medical experts for this purpose. He will also contact Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan to discuss the matter.

According to sources, the Sindh government would take all decisions regarding the imposition of smart lockdown with consensus. They added that business activities should resume in a limited and phased manner.
