Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah provided an update on the Malir Expressway project, as reported by a news source on May 20.

According to the details, the project will be completed within 26 months. Segment-I, stretching from Korangi to Quaidabad, has achieved 70% physical progress, while on the other hand, Segment-II, from Quaidabad to Kathore, has reached 30%. Spanning 38.661 kilometers from Jam Sadiq Bridge to Kathore at M-9, it features six lanes and six interchanges. During a recent inspection of seven ongoing projects, Sindh CM expressed concern over delays caused by hurdles in shifting K-Electric and Sui Gas Company’s installations.

K-Electric also has to shift its High-Tension Line (HTL) at Jam Sadiq so that its connectivity with the Malir Expressway could be made. Mureed Ali Shah instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Malir to promptly address the encroachment concerns and expedite the resolution of land issues to ensure project completion according to schedule.
