Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah on Thursday ordered the Sindh Solid Waste Management Authority (SSWMA) to carry out a cleanliness drive in designated areas of the city, a news source reported.

He expressed his views on the matter during a recent meeting held in Karachi. Minister for Local Government Saeed Ghani, Chief Secretary Mumtaz Shah, Principal Secretary to the CM Sajid Jamal Abro, Secretary LG Khalid Hyder Shah, Secretary Finance Najam Shah, and Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shahalwani, were all present at the occasion.
CM Murad stated that the cleaning effort needs to include garbage disposal. He further expressed his concerns regarding the cleanliness campaign underway in Malir District, and directed the LG minister to take action against the officials found to be careless in terms of their duties.

Moreover, he directed the managing director of SSWMA to establish a complaint centre for receiving and addressing the grievances of citizens with regard to cleanliness. He also asked the finance secretary to address the financial concerns of the authority.
