Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated the Sindh Smart Surveillance System (S4) project in Karachi, as reported on June 21.

According to the details, this initiative aims to enhance security at major entry and exit points across the province using advanced technologies like Facial and Number Plate Recognition. The system, operational at 40 toll plazas including 18 in Karachi, is designed to prevent crime, identify suspects, locate stolen vehicles, and improve traffic management. Sindh CM allocated Rs1.567 billion for the ANPR Camera System, emphasizing its role in creating a safer environment. The project underscores Sindh’s commitment to modernizing security infrastructure and ensuring public safety.
