Karachi: Sindh Minister for Information and Local Bodies Nasir Hussain Shah on Thursday called on the central government to play its part in helping areas of Sindh afflicted by the recent rains spell – a news source reported. He was addressing an event arranged by the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) at the KCCI Auditorium.

The minister further stated that all stakeholders, including the provincial government, the Supreme Court, the federal government, and local development authorities, were on the same page regarding Karachi’s rehabilitation – and added that the development of the city’s infrastructure would be ensured.
He also said that the Sindh government had prioritised the development of the port city in its loan agreements with the World Bank (WB); with the requisite funds having been duly allocated for initiating the planned transport projects.

He was accompanied at the event by Sindh Minister for Industries and Commerce Jam Ikramullah Dharejo and others. Businessmen Group (BMG) Chairman Siraj Kassam Teli, KCCI President Agha Shahab Khan, and other representatives of the local business community, were also present at the occasion.
