Karachi: The Sindh government on Wednesday announced to allocate funds for the development of Greater Karachi Water Supply Project (K-IV) under Sindh Budget 2020-21, a news source reported. Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah presented the budget speech in the provincial assembly.

The CM revealed that the mega projects for Karachi included in the budget 2020-21 were the Greater Karachi Water Sewerage Project (S-III) and Greater Karachi Water Supply Project (K-IV). He stated that the Sindh government was also pursuing the federal government for releasing its share for these two main development projects in the city. He added that the provincial government’s focus was to complete ongoing projects that were at an advanced level of implementation.

CM Shah also revealed an allocation worth PKR 19.3 billion for over 300 water supply & sanitation projects of the Public Health Engineering and Local Government departments. He added that the mega Karachi Water & Sewerage Services Improvement project has gained approval at a cost of PKR 3.4 billion with financial support from the World Bank.
