Abbottabad: The governments of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan will establish tourism zones within their respective provincial zones on the model currently being developed by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, a news source reported.

National Tourism Board (NTB) Chairman Zulfi Bukhari recently expressed his views on the matter. He was addressing the participants of the 4th Tech Valley Conference 2019 in Abbottabad.

Senator Azam Swati, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Gilgit-Baltistan Minister for Tourism Fida Khan, Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) General Manager Sajjad Hameed, and Tech Valley Abbottabad Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Umar Farooq were all present at the occasion.

Bukhari said that the proposed tourism zones would facilitate the development of the tourism sector, and promote related industries in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He lauded the KP government for taking tangible steps for the promotion of tourism. He referred to the inclusion of the private sector in the initiative as a ‘step in the right direction’.
