Karachi: The Sindh Water Commission (SWC) has asked Advocate General Salman Talibuddin to clarify the provincial government’s report regarding commercialisation of industrial plots, a news source reported. Justice (retired) Amir Hami Muslim, who heads the Supreme Court-mandated commission, issued the directives.
The government had earlier submitted its report regarding commercialisation of industrial plots on the directives of the water commission, which is investigating water-related issues in the province.
Justice Muslim observed that the policy submitted by the provincial government is not written properly and requires clarity. He also asked the advocate general to submit a comprehensive policy in the regard by January 10.
According to the commission, the said plots have added to the malfunctioning of the sewerage system and multiplied water scarcity. It added that the industrial plots converted for commercial activities need to be categorised separately.
