Karachi: The Sindh Cabinet has approved the land allotment of 5,801 acres to the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) and ten private firms (wind and solar) on a 30-year lease for installation of renewable power plants and national grid station in Thatta, Dadu and Jamshoro, according to news sources. This arrangement will yield PKR 9.13 billion for the provincial treasury.

This step also enabled the local government to set up special courts for the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) under the Sindh Building Control Ordinance 1979, to resume illegal constructions cases’ hearings.
The cabinet also created a three-member committee to review the proposal submitted by the Board of Revenue (BoR) regarding the valuation table of urban properties of Karachi, Sukkur and Hyderabad.

Regarding the land allotment for power projects, the deputy commissioners concerned had suggested the annual lease amount of PKR 3,000, PKR 5,000 and PKR 8,000 per acre annually for different land categories.
