Karachi: The Sindh government on Monday notified the appointment of Iftikhar Shallwani and six other officials as ‘administrator’ and ‘deputy administrators’ of the city and its six districts, respectively, a news source reported. It appointed the persons concerned following the expiry of the tenure of the former elected officials a week ago.

Iftikhar Shallwani had previously served as Karachi Commissioner and was recently posted as the local government secretary by the provincial government, while Sindh Finance Secretary Najam Ahmed Shah has been handed the additional charge of the ‘local government secretary’.
Meanwhile, the deputy commissioners of the city’s six districts have been appointed as ‘deputy administrators’ for their respective district municipal corporations (DMCs).
The provincial executive has also appointed Anis Ahmed Dasti as the ‘administrator’ for Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, while Deputy Commissioner Fuad Ghaffar Soomro has been appointed as the ‘administrator’ for Hyderabad DMC.

Nisar Ahmed Memon has been appointed as the ‘administrator’ for Sukkur Municipal Corporation and Shehzad Afzal for Sukkur DMC, while Wali Muhammad Baloch has been appointed the ‘administrator’ for Larkana Municipal Corporation.
