The minister met with the World Bank’s senior transport specialist, Lincoln Flor, to review Project Concept-1 (PC-I), PC-II, and share the alternative proposals for the Yellow Line. The minister said that constructing the current route from Dawood Chowrangi to the Kashmir Road Interchange will be a much more costly project as compared to the two new proposed routes.
The minister said that the main focus of the project is to provide an affordable and sustainable mass transit system for the citizens of Karachi. He also mentioned that the launch of the People’s Bus Service, a bus service of 250 hybrid diesel buses, is an evidence that the government is doing everything possible to make Karachi’s transport system more efficient.
