Karachi: The Sindh government has provided a notification of its decision to allow industries with their own residential colonies to function amid the going novel coronavirus crisis, a news source reported. Provincial Minister for Information Sued Nasir Hussain Shah confirmed this information.

Shah said that the provincial government would allow these industries to function after formulating the proper standard operating procedures (SOPs) for them. These SOPs would allow them to function safely amid the ongoing novel coronavirus situation.
The information minister also expressed his gratitude for all those individuals who showed their cooperation with the Sindh government during these difficult times. He especially lauded clerics and representatives of the welfare organisations in the province.

Shah revealed that in order to increase its testing capacity for the novel coronavirus, the Sindh government was trying to import testing kits from the United Kingdom (UK). He added that this step was taken following the directives issued by Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah.
The CM is expected to call a meeting tomorrow to discuss various issues faced by the different industries due to the lockdown in the province.
