Tashkent: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain On Friday (July 16) stated that Pakistan and Uzbekistan discussed the revival of the Silk Road to boost regional connectivity during a two-day conference in Tashkent, news sources reported.

It was also reported that a rail link will also be constructed, according the minister, to promote regional connectivity and communication between people.
More than 60 countries were represented in the International Conference ‘Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity, Challenges, and Opportunities. Apart from Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, foreign ministers from 20 countries were present at the conference.

The federal minister, while talking to the media, stated that the Silk Road was a major and important artery that connected South Asia with Tashkent through Kabul. Further, he added that with the revival of the Silk Road, a huge network for international trade can be set up by linking South Asia, Central Asia, and Europe.
