Lahore: The Punjab government on Wednesday (December 22) approved a signal-free corridor that will link the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) to Gulberg for flow smooth of traffic, media sources reported.

As per the details, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has prepared the plan to develop a signal-free road from Gulberg’s Centre Point to Defence Mor. The project was approved by Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar.
Sharing more details, it was disclosed that a one-way flyover will be developed at the Ghora Chowk Cavalry along with an underpass at Khalid Butt Chowk. Additionally, a four-lane dual carriageway with a two-way underpass will be constructed at Khalid Butt Chowk. A three-lane single-sided flyover will be constructed at Ghora Chowk from Cavalry Ground towards Defence turn.

According to the details, the PKR 800 million will be utilised to spend for new U-turns at Centre Point and remodelling of Walton Road, and Defence Mor. CM Buzdar ordered the Standing Committee on Finance to include it in Annual Development Programme (ADP). The committee has included PKR 2.80 billion for the project in the budget.
