Sialkot: The Punjab Government will introduce several development projects, being funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), in Sialkot – a news source reported. These initiatives include parks, solid waste management, and potable drinking water.

A meeting to this effect took place between officials of the Sialkot Municipal Corporation (SMC) and ADB representatives. These included Umer Ali Shah, Mian Shaukat Shafi and Qaisar Saleem.
ADB has pledged to provide PKR 8 billion for projects with regard to uplift and beautification of the city. Moreover, advanced civic facilities will be provided to the residents.
The ADB officials recently completed its survey to identify the areas that require improvement. Similarly, a project will be launched to replace decades-old pipelines.

The Manila-based lender has approved a special grant worth USD 200 million under which advanced infrastructure and modern civic amenities will be provided to the residents of Sialkot.
