Sialkot: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar recently announced that the requisite arrangements had been concluded for the establishment of the Sialkot Development Authority, according to news sources.
Mr. Dar stated that Sialkot, being the focal point of Pakistan’s exports, required its own development body to administer its affairs efficiently. He added that that the development authority’s aims would be to revamp the city, and oversee various development projects in the area.

In addition, he revealed that projects regarding the provision of clean drinking water at union council levels and the installation of water filtration plants were underway in various parts of the city. Moreover, he stated that the “takhti culture” would be exterminated and top tax payers would be allowed to display special plaques on their development projects in the future — informing the public of their efforts to promote the tax culture in the city.
Similarly, he declared that various health and water supply projects had been launched in Sialkot. In this regard, he mentioned that a new ICU had been established at the Allama Iqbal Hospital, which was fitted with the facility of four ventilators.
