Sialkot: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Member Facilitation and Taxpayer Education (FATE) Lubna Farrukh Mirza visited Sialkot to brief representatives of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and members of Tax Bar Associations from Sialkot and Gujrat, according to a news report. The briefing was done primarily on the salient features of the Tax Amnesty Scheme 2018.
Mirza briefed businessmen, traders, and tax lawyers about the Tax Amnesty Scheme and addressed all concerns in hopes that more people would avail the scheme. She added that through this scheme, people could disclose their assets by paying nominal amounts. These include 2% tax on declaration and repatriation of foreign assets, 3% on declaration of immovable foreign assets and 5% on declaration and non-repatriation of assets.
However, despite demands by the representatives, Mirza didn’t extend the deadline of the scheme and advised people to make use of the remaining time.
