Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has served show-cause notices to developers of over 300 private housing societies that illegally made changes in their approved plans, reported a news source. In these societies, land meant for parks, mosques, graveyards, schools, parking lots, hospitals and community centres were instead sold as plots to the general public.
Further scrutiny of these societies is being carried out and their respective developers have been asked to submit the maps and master plans approved by RDA. The cases for these housing societies violating the approved maps will be sent to the magistrate for further proceedings.
It is expected that the developers will be made to pay an amount ranging between PKR 50,000 to PKR 150,000 as a fine. That is in addition to bulldozing the structures built on amenity plots. RDA inspectors are issuing notices to such societies on a daily basis.
The housing societies that have been developed according to the plans approved by the development authority will be served with accreditation certificates.
