Gwadar: The long-awaited resolution to the water scarcity problem in Gwadar town has finally arrived with the completion of a monumental 158km pipeline. This pipeline, constructed to channel water from the Shadi Kor and Swad dams, has effectively quenched the thirst of Gwadar’s residents.

In an announcement on Twitter, Director General of the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA), Mujeeb Ur Rehman Qambarani, celebrated the successful completion of this ambitious water project, labeling it as one of the most challenging endeavors ever undertaken in Gwadar town. Not stopping there, the GDA has further ensured access to drinking water for every household by installing 141km water distribution pipeline. Qambarani confirmed that new house connections are currently being provided to households.
Amidst this remarkable achievement, Qambarani emphasized that the water supply is more than sufficient, surpassing the daily demand. This surplus ensures that Gwadar’s residents no longer have to worry about shortages or water-related hardships.

To bolster the city’s water infrastructure, GDA has constructed four underground storage tanks across different parts of the city. These tanks collectively boast an impressive storage capacity of 10 million gallons of water, ensuring a steady and reliable supply. Despite the immense scale of these water pipeline projects, diligent oversight by all relevant government authorities facilitated their swift completion.
