Lahore: The city administration has razed 10 shops as part of its anti-encroachment operation in Shah Alam Market, a news source reported. The authorities also sealed a plaza and dismantled ramps and other illegal structures.
The city administration, in its bid to restore the market to its original state, also constituted a team, which will be headed by Assistant Commissioner (City) Ahmad Raza Butt.
The provincial government has intensified its operations against encroachers and land mafias in the wake of Lahore High Court’s (LHC) orders for an operation clean-up.
Moreover, the provincial police department has formed a four-member committee to address the grievances of affectees of land-grabbing. SP Sadar Lahore Ali Raza has been appointed its head.
Other members include SP Investigation Muhammad Rashid Hidayat and two members each from Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and Revenue Department respectively. An open court will be held every week to hear the complaints of the affectees.
