Lahore: The construction of the Sheranwala Gate flyover has been completed and is open to the public, making it easy for the people to reach Ravi Road, according to a news story published in the national dailies on May 3.

As per the details, the allied works such as slip roads, shifting of utility services, protected U-turns, and concrete pavement will take two months. According to Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Project Director Iqrar Ahmad, the allied works are expected to be completed by June 30. He went on to say that major and minor at-grade construction work was not possible until the flyover project was completed. After the completion of the flyover project, at-grade construction work will be completed soon along both sides of the project.

Moreover, the project director mentioned that the shifting of the utility services (sewerage, Sui gas, & electricity) from one place to another was also tricky. It is pertinent to note that this flyover project will make the commute easy for 130,000 vehicles on a daily basis. The mega scheme will benefit various areas in Lahore including Azam Cloth Market, Brandreth Road, GT Road, Akbari Mandi, Walled City, Badami Bagh, Lunda Bazaar, Data Darbar, Shah Alam Market, Azadi Chowk, Misri Shah, and Shadbagh.
