During the ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that the 306-kilometre-long road infrastructure project would be completed within 30 months. The project, which is estimated to cost PKR 307 billion, is part of the ‘historic development package’ for Sindh that was announced by the federal government in 2021. Shehbaz emphasized the importance of ensuring exceptional construction quality in order to provide Sindh residents with the best possible commuting experience. He also credited Sindh’s successful public-private partnership model for the inauguration of the project and expressed hope that it could be replicated at the federal level. PM Shehbaz also highlighted the importance of connecting Balochistan, the country’s largest province, with the rest of the country.
