Karachi: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has requested a plan to implement the Karachi Strategic Development Plan 2020, issuing notices to key authorities, including the secretary of local governments and the Karachi Development Authority, as reported on May 29.

Petitioner M. Tariq Mansoor emphasised that the plan, extending to 2030, aims to align with the federal government’s vision and includes areas beyond Karachi. Despite the establishment of the Sindh Master Plan Authority as per Supreme Court orders in February 2020, no statutory act has been passed by the provincial government in years.

The plea urges the high court to direct the Sindh government to enforce the plan and align it with existing town planning regulations and laws governing Karachi, Malir, Lyari Development authorities, and cantonment boards.
