The petitioner, Kamran Khan, asked the court to bar SCBA from demolishing marriage halls. He maintained that the halls were constructed with the approval of the Master Plan Department.
On this, the bench remarked that the Supreme Court wanted the marriage halls, in question, demolished. Justice Shafi Muhammad Siddiqui observed that the high court cannot overrule the apex court’s decision.

Justice Siddiqui, while dismissing the petition, ordered SCBA to submit the master plan on January 18.
The top court had last year passed orders against encroachments on amenity plots. The case pertained to the conversion of amenity plots into commercial ones.
