Shangla: Deputy Commissioner Hamidur Rehman on Friday directed the relevant authorities to remove encroachments on the forestland of Shangla district, according to news sources.

The deputy commissioner convened a meeting to investigate at the forestland encroachments. The meeting was attended by Divisional Forest Officer Faizur Rehman, district administration officials, and police.
Mr. Rehman revealed that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has ordered the removal of encroachments on state-owned land. The divisional forest officer briefed the participants on the encroached land in various parts of the district, as well as the efforts taken by the forest department to reclaim the forest land.

Furthermore, the deputy commissioner asked that the relevant authorities to cooperate in order to reclaim the state-owned land. Mr Hamidur Rehman further stated that anyone who creates hurdles to the clearance of encroachments will face severe consequences.
