Timergara (Lower Dir): The residents of Shalkandi Darra have requested the district administration and the Public Health Engineering Department to make efforts for the operationalization of the area’s water supply scheme on an immediate basis, according to news sources.
The locals said that they had to fetch water from long distances since the tube well which used to supply water to Hassanabad, Aminabad and Qillagi in Darra Shalkandi had been out of order for the past nine months.

The residents said that they had repeatedly brought the issue to the officials concerned and raised the matter before the executive engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department. They added that they never were regular in the payments of water bills and deserved for their concerns to be addressed properly.

Meanwhile, the residents of Arif Kallay Munda complained that the electricity transformer of the local basic health unit (BHU) is had remained out of order for the last eight months. The residents also called for the provision of appropriate healthcare facilities in the area – the lack of which prompted them to travel far – and asked the officials to resolve their concerns.
