Lahore: The Shalimar Group of Companies recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with an international firm, Meinhardt Group (Singapore), for an upcoming venture, according to a news source published on January 20.

Shalimar Group of Companies signed this contract in a bid to bring some of the world’s most gifted architects to work on their upcoming real estate project called the ‘Shalimar Smart City’. A ceremony to this effect was held on January 15 by Elysium at Marriot Hotel, and was attended by prominent industry figures, foreign delegates, native business community and media. It was highlighted during the event proceedings that this would be the first smart city of Sargodha.
Meinhardt Group, known for their urban planning skills, have expressed eagerness to give their best efforts to this collaboration.

Chairman Shalimar Group of Companies Malik Khizar Hayat Awan addressed the event and elaborated on how the project came to be. ‘My vision to reality, a journey of 30 years. Shalimar Smart City, a hub of smart features pioneering in Punjab is a considerable and substantial residential project established on international housing standards. We are going to enhance advancements in the lifestyle of locals of Sargodha. Shalimar Smart City is also a project for the housing Investors throughout the country,’ he said.
Director Operations Meinhardt (Pakistan) Samad Wazir also spoke at the event and expressed his excitement regarding the project; stating that the company will ‘enthrall the people by introducing the Smart Era in Sargodha’.
