The groundbreaking dates had already been announced and cancelled twice. The PM is now scheduled to perform groundbreaking on Monday (July 12), according to a senior official whose identity was not disclosed.
The first project is the Sheranwala Gate Flyover, which would cost PKR 4.9 billion. It is a one-kilometer-long flyover that would run from Naulakha Police Station to Sheranwala Gate Flyover. Because it will be a signal-free route, this project is being built to alleviate traffic congestion on Circular Road. According to the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Chief Engineer Mazhar Hussain Khan, 6ft of walkway would be built on both sides of the road. In addition, construction on sewage pipelines is progressing at a rapid pace.
Furthermore, the second project, worth PKR 4.3 billion, is the Shahkam Chowk overhead project. This project would improve public transportation along the Link Canal Road from Thokar Niaz Beg to Shahkam Chowk.
