Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi inaugurated the Shahkam Chowk Flyover project, constructed at a total cost of PKR 3.91 billion, a news source reported on October 19.

At the inauguration ceremony, CM Elahi mentioned that the Shahkam Chowk Flyover is a three-lane, dual-way flyover which will save travelling time and ensure ease to motorists. The news source mentioned that the signal-free corridor will be available for 120,000 vehicles every day. A patrolling post and Rescue 1122 centre will be constructed in order to maintain law and order in the housing societies near Shahkam Chowk, he added.

Moreover, the chief minister shared that the work on Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) and Central Business District (CBD) projects has started. He also disclosed that the Lahore Master Plan 2050 has been approved to address the rising population and traffic problems in the city. The minister stated that the incumbent government will construct an underground travel facility.
