Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani on Wednesday stated that the Special Economic Zones (SEZ) proposed for Balochistan would boost trade and economic activities in the province following their completion, a news source reported.

He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting held to review progress on the establishment of SEZs across the province. The officials concerned gave briefings on the land allocated by Trade Secretary Ghulam Ali Baloch for the establishment of SEZs in the province.
In response, Alyani said that the proposed SEZs would boost the production of agriculture and products, facilitate the development of the mineral sector, and improve corporate governance services.

Moreover, he asked the provincial trade department to prepare a feasibility report for setting up SEZs in Gadani. He also proposed setting up an export processing zone to facilitate the provincial economic growth.
